100% Cork has launched a website where people can join the natural cork movement! Visit their site and pledge to buy or sell only wine preserved with natural cork, and to encourage your family, friends, and local retailers to do the same. As they say, “Cork is not only a better closure for wine; it is the only organic, biodegradable and renewable choice.”

The site has some great information. For example, did you know that the cork forests (montado) of Portugal are the second largest bio-gem in the world, after the Amazon rainforest? Or that CO2 emissions are 24x higher for screwcaps and 10x higher for plastic stoppers than natural cork?

Their Facebook page also has a lot of great comments from people and explanations to lots of common questions.

Check them out, and join us in pledging to buy wine with natural corks. Then recycle the corks with us!
